Mike
Arthur
Director of Strength and Conditioning
Mike Arthur has been with the
athletic department since 1977 and was named the Director of Strength and
Conditioning at Nebraska in January of 2008. He also serves as
the head strength coach for baseball, a position he assumed in
2004. Arthur was named to the U.S. Collegiate Strength and
Conditioning Coaches Hall of Fame in June 2003, was among the
first 10 strength and conditioning coaches nationally to earn
the distinction of Master Strength and Conditioning Coach by the
Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association in
2001, and was also named the 1995 National Collegiate Strength
and Conditioning Coach of the Year by the Professional Football
Strength and Conditioning Coaches society.

Laura Buttermore
Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Laura
Buttermore began working as an assistant strength and
conditioning coach for the Nebraska in 2004. She currently works
with the Nebraska volleyball, softball, gymnastics, and rifle
teams. As a student-athlete, Buttermore was a two-time AVCA
All-American volleyball player at Nebraska and three-time CoSIDA
Academic All-American. She was also a two-time Husker
Power Volleyball Lifter of the Year and the 2001 Husker Female
Athlete of the Year. Buttermore is a certified strength
and conditioning Specialist. |

Tyler Clarke
Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Tyler Clarke is in his
second season as an assistant strength coach for the Nebraska
football program, after joining the staff in the summer of 2008.
Clarke comes to Nebraska after spending three seasons as an
assistant strength coach at the University of Iowa. Clarke
earned his bachelor's degree in Health and Sports Studies from
Iowa in 2005 and his master's degree in administration from
Central Michigan in 2008. He is a certified strength and
conditioning specialist and is a member of the National Strength
and Conditioning Association. |

James Dobson
Head Football Strength and Conditioning Coach
James Dobson joined the Nebraska football staff in January
2008 and is the Head Football Strength Coach. Prior to Nebraska, he worked with the
Iowa Hawkeye football program during one of the most successful
periods in school history appearing in bowl games in six of
seven seasons and winning 38 games and 2 Big X titles from 2002
- 2005. Before Iowa, Dobson worked for two years as an assistant
strength and conditioning coach at Southern Methodist.
Dobson earned his B.S. degree in kinesiology from Wisconsin in
1996, and his master's of science and administration degree from
Central Michigan in 2004. Dobson is also a certified strength
and conditioning specialist and a member of the National
Strength and Conditioning Association.

Willie Jones
Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach
Willie Jones is in his second season as an assistant strength
and conditioning coach with he Nebraska football team.
Jones came to Nebraska from South Dakota State, where he spent
two years as a graduate assistant for the Jackrabbit strength
and conditioning department. Jones earned his bachelor's degree
in health promotion from South Dakota State in 2007 and is
near completion of a master's degree from SDSU. Jones was
a three-year letterman for the Jackrabbit football team from
2002 - 2006. Jones is also a certified member of the Collegiate
Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.

Brian Kmitta
Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach
Brian Kmitta joined the Nebraska strength and conditioning
staff in 2009 after serving as an intern for 3 years. He
works primarily with the tennis, golf, track and field, and
diving teams. Kmitta played football at Anderson
University and received his Bachelor's Degree in Physical
Education in 2004. Kmitta stayed on at Anderson University
as the Assistant Running Backs and Strength and Conditioning
coach. He then spent a year at the University of
Louisville as an Intern Strength and Conditioning coach.

Brandon Rigoni
Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach
Brandon Rigoni joined the Husker Power staff in a full-time
role in 2009 after spending two years as an intern. Rigoni works
with the Nebraska football, baseball, an soccer teams. Rigoni
was a member of Nebraska football's rich walk-on tradition as a
special teams standout for the Cornhuskers. He was elected team
captain and Husker Power Lifter of the year for football in
2006, and special teams most valuable player in 2004. Rigoni was
also a two-time first-team academic All-Big 12 selection. Rigoni
is currently a member of the biopsychology Ph.D program at the
University of Nebraska, with an emphasis in statistics.

Rusty Ruffcorn
Head Basketball Strength and Conditioning Coach Rusty Ruffocrn
was hired as Nebraska's head basketball strength coach in 2006
and works primarily with the men's and women's basketball teams.
He began his tenure with Nebraska as a volunteer intern in 2004,
and moved into a full-time role in 2005, working with the
baseball and football squads before taking over for the
basketball teams. Ruffcorn earned his bachlor's degree in
exercise science in 2004 from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
His has also earned USAW Level I club coach certification and is
a certified strength and conditioning specialist.

Chad Wade
Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach
Chad Wade is an assistant strength coach for football who began
his association with the athletic performance team in 1996.
Previously, Wade was a Bob Devaney Sports Center strength coach,
working primarily with the men's and women's basketball teams.
Wade earned his bachelor's degree in sports management from
Nebraska Wesleyan in 1996 where he was a member of the Plainsmen
football team. He is also strength and conditioning
certified.
